Reviewing Restaurants

Calling all Riblettes .... what do you think about writing up reviews for the restaurants we go to?

I mean, Stephanie and I find ourselves always sitting there discussing in foodie talk how good or icky a restaurant is, how good the service was or was not, if we liked the feel of the restaurant, and if it was worth the price. I thought it might be fun to post up some reviews to share with other people looking for good restaurants in the twin cities area here on live journal.

I did create a separate journal for it called riblettereview ( http://riblettereview.livejournal.com/ ). If no one else wants to, I'll edit the descript a bit, and Steffie and I will post up reviews. But if you want to do it too, I'll email you the live journal log in and we can all post up reviews.

Month Recap

Wow ... I haven't posted here in almost a month. We've been busy!

We started going to the gym about the middle of January. It hasn't been bad ... kinda good in fact. It's a really nice gym with an indoor pool, sauna, and jacuzzi and every type of exercise equipment I can think of. Thank goodness for the elliptical machines that aren't hell on my leg (I have this knot that swells up whenever I do a lot of walking or any other high impact activity. The elliptical machines don't really affect it and they give me the best workout). We also have been trying to watch more what we eat. Steffie loves the pasta and potatoes and things like that (I do too!), but I know carbs are my weak point. If I can watch the carbs, I know I can lose at least part of the weight. I have done it before. I was miserable on the atkins diet but it did work. We've kinda come to compromise. I'll try to limit the heavy starches to a couple times a week and keep a closer watch on portion size. Lots of fresh vegges and smarter choice snacks. We just have to stick to it. Steffie and I were both feeling kind of icky one week this month and didn't go to gym, and then my birthday and valentine's kinda dashed the diet for a couple days too.

Speaking of my birthday and valentine's day ... it was an awesome weekend. My birthday was on the friday before Valentine's day this year, so I had the day off. It's nice to have my birthday on my off day so I can sleep in and just have a lazy day if I want. Steffie took me to the Bourbon Street Steakhouse in the old stock exchange building in St. Paul off Grand Ave. It was really nice. I loved the whole french quarter atmosphere and Zydeco music. I order the shrimp and crawfish etouffee and Steffie had the jumbo. I tasted of Steffie's gumbo, which was really good with spicy andouille sausage, but my etouffee was to die for. It was rich and creamy and butter with just the right amount of spice. It was best I've had since I was in New Orleans. Along with dinner we had hurricanes to drink (very yummy), an artichoke and crab dip with bread for an appetizer, and a lemon cheese cake with maker's mark whipped cream (MMMMMMMMMM) for dessert. Dinner took a little longer than it should have getting there, and I would have felt a little grumbly about it. But, the waitress recognized it without us having to say anything and gave us our dessert free. I would so go back there again. I haven't even mentioned my birthday gift yet. Steffie got me hotwheels and a hotwheels car mat to play with them on! Yeah ... she got me boy toys. :-D Everyone needs a toy for a birthday now and again. She had wanted to get me a wheel car carrier too so that I could organize all the cars, but she couldn't find one. However my mat did come in a nifty zip up case that I can fit my cars in. I have an awesome girlfriend to try and play to OCD about organizing by getting me something I can use to store and carry the toys she got me.

She got me a stuffed puppy (so does not let her off the hook for getting me a real puppy!), and four yummy caramels from the candy company that is near where we live for Valentine's day. I got her a hand picked box of chocolates from Abdallah candies too. I thought it was really cool that they let me pick each piece of chocolate I wanted included. I got a balloon to go with it that's the shape of a monkey. It was so cute! Buster was afraid of it. That was funny. On valentine's day we slept late together and well ... did fun stuff *g*. Then that night we went to the MSDB Valentine's Day Massacre. That was a lot of fun. I liked the whole 1920's Italian gangster theme. It was too cold in the dungeon area though, and I don't normally say that. We played, and I never did warm up. Everything hurt 20 times more than it normally does, and it just never seemed to blend as it normally does to an enjoyable level. A ribbon flogger finally made me cry. I felt ridiculous, but I had to ask to stop. I was uncomfortably cold and it was affecting how everything felt. That really bummed me out since the parties are some of the few times we get to play using the equipment. Maybe next time will be better. I had sunday off, so no having to get up at four in the morning after getting bed after two. Yay for that.

Speaking of equipment, we went hardware shopping last week and bought the supplies we'll need to make ourselves a new cross. We've had it in the works for a while now and haven't had the time/money/supplies to finish it. It's a really cool idea. The cross breaks down to form a plant stand and shelf, so it's completely disguised when you aren't using it. The foxy furniture website listed up their plans for making it, so that's what we're using as a guide. We'd also like to eventually do a bondage bed / coffee table too for the living room. It will be really nice to have it at home so we can play and we can invite friends over to play. Here's a picture of what we're making.

I love Saturdays. Saturdays in our house when we don't have any outside plans made are days of snuggling on the couch and naked fun. Today was really good.

We got a new porn in the mail from Sugar DVD and decided to watch it today. It's called Hearts & Minds #2: Modern Warfare, and it was actually very good. The first scene was blah, but the next couple were pretty hot. They involved woodworking and car mechanics and sex in garages and on top of cars.

Apparently we both liked it lots. Things went boing and well I had to investigate. I found new, fun buttons while investigating too. And well, pushing buttons is fun! Steffie made all sorts of good sounds... ooo ooo's and mmmmm's and lots of heehee's. There were some growlies too. I like growlies. Things went WHOOSH... a gyser *giggles*. It was very WOW all around. I played more and there was another woosh, and then another.

We were both like, this shouldn't be possible. SIX... cound them SIX... wooshes in one day, in less than six hours. *bounces* I didn't even know that was possible. Our couch has a huge puddle on it and then a few little ones. I took a picture! Steffie and I both had to have a shower and her robe is all wet.

Every saturday should have lots of woohoos like today. *big huge smile that will last a week*

Tribe Christmas / Yule Tonight !!!

Tribe Christmas / Yule is tonight!!! I'm super looking forward to haning out at the farm in my monkey pants, warming up with a bowl of soup before opening presents. How many christmas dinners / parties do you get to and actually are expected to wear your pj's to? I can't think of a better group of people to spend a holiday weekend with either. I love Steffie dearly and we have the best friends ever.

We ended up with two huge bags of presents. We combined our christmas shopping so we could get a good gift for everyone, but some of the boxes are WAY bigger than I remember. I thought I'd fit them all in one big box for transport, but that so didn't happen. Then we have a big bag of food (ham, cornbread, grits, cookies, and sweet potato pie). Plus our clothes for the weekend too.

Tanya and I both have to work on Sunday, so we decided to carpool down to Le Center. Let's cross our fingers and hope that we can fit all of our combined stuff in one of our cars. lol

Here's a great night with friends. I hope everyone else has a merry christmas, a happy winter solstice, and a safe weekend with all the incoming snow to arrive tomorrow.

P.S. *hugs* Welcome to the tribe Jenn!

I've been meaning to post these for a while now, but I just haven't had the time or haven't thought about it when I have had the time. It's so nice to have a house to decorate for Christmas. I had fun doing that this year. Tim's was okay, but I didn't have a lot of space for my little tree, and I didn't have anywhere else that I could decorate.

We bought a new tree right before thanksgiving, and I love it. It's HUGE. It's so big that we didn't even put the last rung of branches in, and I can still barely put presents underneath it. It's nice and full and really tall. Thank goodness for our sunken living room and high ceiling. It looks really nice in front of the bay windo too. We actually have a tree big enough to fit all of my ornaments that I've collected over the years plus lights and beads. We still have room for more ornaments .... that is if Buster didn't enjoy knocking them off the tree so much. We started out with the tree all pretty and decorated and over the past few weeks the ornaments have slowly migrated toward the top of the tree to keep them out of buster's reach. Grrrr at the kitty. If he weren't so cute and so good at keeping my feet warm I'd have violent thoughts toward him as he climbs up the middle of the tree to bat at the glass globes and bells.

We have seven stockings hanging above our bay window. Some of them I made last year and refilled with goodies this year, and a couple are newly made this year. Steffie has a ballerina slipper, Rae and ice skate, Pork Chop a pirate boot, Tanya a Victorian boot, Jenn a shiny black biker boot, and Buster has a blue stocking with a mouse and a block of cheese on it.

Here are some picturees to show you what they look like ...

Thanksgiving in Des Moines

Thanksgiving went pretty well this year. I worked from 5am to 10am Thanksgiving morning and then we headed straight down to Steffie's mom and dad's place.

Mmmm ... Steffie's mom made dressing and the yummy jello dessert I liked so much last year. It was all very tasty. After eating we chatted with everyone there for a while. I got to meet another of Steffie's sisters, Traci, and her husband and son. There are two more sisters I haven't met yet, Amanda and Trisha. Hopefully I'll get to meet them at the next family holiday or get together. I got to meet Karen's little girl too. Last time I saw Karen she was still pregnant. Lots of people there. It was really nice. Everyone was really friendly.

Steffie's family likes to do card games and board games after the holiday dinner. I learned two new games while I was there. We played a card game called Five Crowns that is very similar to Phase 10 if you've ever played that. There are 13 rounds and each round a different card is wild. Your goal is to eliminate as many of your cards as you can by grouping them in at the least groups of 3 such as three 7's and a run of hearts 3, 4, and 5. If you get to eliminate all of your cards your score for the round is zero. Any you don't eliminate you count up the points remaining and that is your score. Whoever has the lowest score at the end of the last round ends. The other game I played for the first time was RISK the board game. I've played a couple times on the computer, but I'd never played the board game. Steffie and her dad and sister and neice and nephew played, and they were all really patient about showing me how to play. I didn't do horribly either. I wasn't the first to go out, so I was happy. And Steffie conquered the world. *giggles* It was lots of fun.

We found out that Steffie's other sister Trisha will be down for Christmas later this month, but it happens to be the same weekend that we are having our tribe christmas. So, we won't be down for it. We'll have to make sure to go down and visit next time she's down this way or maybe make a trip to Chicago sometime to visit.

After we finished the risk game and chatted a bit more, we headed over to Cass and William's for the night. I was sooo sleepy. I had been up since fourish that morning. It was a really good day though. The next day, Friday, Cass invited Tori over and we played hours and hours of Dungeons and Dragons. I got to play a half elf warlock. She has awesome powers too! I didn't my troop killed or myself killed, and I did manage to help out the other players with my characters powers. It was lots of fun.

Another super late night for me Friday night. We didn't get into bed til after 1:00 am. Saturday we got up and had breakfast with Cass and William, did a bit of shopping (I got Steffie some cute ruffly panties at Torrid), and headed home just in time to watch White Christmas on tv. It was a very very good holiday weekend.

What Sound Do Nipples Make ? ? ?

What sound does Steffie's nipples make? First I said boing, but Steffie vetoed BOING. Other parts go BOING but apparently not her nipples. Then I suggested PING, but she no like PING either. Steffie said they go POW POW POW, but I dunno. Seems a little too fembot from Austin Powers...

What sound do you think Steffie's nipples make? We're open for suggestions

MSDB's Zombie Prom was last night and it turned out to be lots of fun. I was really impressed with the amount of people who dressed up and the time they put into their costumes. Everyone seemed to really take the zombie theme and run with it. There were some awesome and fun costumes all around. The food was fun too if a bit scary. Nothing was quite the right color and quite a few things I couldn't even identify what they were suppose to be. The dip shaped like an eyeball was interesting and the cookie tomstomes on top of coacoa pebble treats were really cute.

It was super crowded. The party sold out and there didn't seem to be many no shows at all. The social area and the dungeon was full most of the night. And aside from a few irritations in the dungeon with the over-crowding and things it wasn't a bad set-up at all. Steffie and I had a really good scene (not involving a broken bat this time lol). I has bite marks on both shoulders this morning and all sorts of bruises across my tushie. Apparently my dolly got zombified when I wasn't looking and was feeling the urge to naw on flesh during our scene. She was going "rarrr rarrr rarrr as she nibbled and bit." It was, mmmm, very sexy. I will be a zombie dolly treat anytime. Toward the end anything she hit me with made me giggle. I even giggled with the big paddle. It was so fun!

Overall a very good night of play and fun with friends and dressing up in cute, shiny outfits. Below is a link to some pictures of us at the party in our costumes.

Scene Ideas

I just thought of a great idea ... watching Steffie shimmie out of her jeans to go get a shower gave me ideas (go figure that!) What do I need for this scene idea?

1. pasties
2. a cute pair of panties
3. Good music
4. a hat
5. a suit
6. dollar bills
7. a couple friends (optional but it would make it more fun)

Guess what my idea is????

Steffie doing her tushie wiggles brough on a great stripper/lapdance fantasy. With my new haircut, in my new hat and pinstripe suit and steffie in some cute panties an pasties giving lap dances .... Mmmmmmm. I likes that idea muchly. *giggles* I think it would be lots of fun. *sings Aerosmith's Crazy in my head*

One Year Anniversary

Collar_BareShoulders
So, my and Steffie's one year anniversary was yesterday. Can you believe it? It doesn't seem like a year, but it is. And what a year it's been too! I have to say that I haven't ever been happier with who I am, who I'm with, and where I'm at with my life both vanilla and kinky. It's been a truly awesome year.

I have a job that I'm good at and semi enjoy. It usually pays the bills and leaves a bit extra to play with. It also allows for domestic parnters to be on our insurance policies, which will be great for Steffie. I have a beautiful, kind, funny, fun to be with girlfriend who is great to me and for me. We just moved into our own home, and finally have the privacy to actually do kinky things at home now. Yay for all of that!

Unfortunately since we did just move in, we didn't really have the money to go anywhere or do anything big for our anniversary. But that's okay. We've been eating out so much recently with the two weeks of moving that it was nice to just have a meal at home. We had a salad and Steffie made yummy steaks. We snuggled naked on the couch and had naked naps. Seems kinda boring but it's so nice to be able to do that anytime we want after having the nosiest landlord ever who showed up unexpectedly in our part of the house.

It was a really good relaxing evening just being together followed by much woowoo's and hee hee's and muawhaha's too. Yes my girlfriend muawhaha's. It's so cute *giggles.* And she puddled. It was great. *big Grin* A first for her. So worth sleeping on the wet spot. :-D I will have to find all the spots that result in those sorts of reactions.

BBQ Weekend Fun

Collar_BareShoulders
Steffie and I had a blast at the MPX BBQ this year. It was a little more of a drive than we'd expected, but it wasn't bad getting there at all. And once we were there, it was so worth the extra few miles. It's an awesome place. We will definitely go back there again. Naked camping rocks.

*claps for Steffie* She won third place in the Whip competition in the kinky olympics! I was hesitant to have cold water balloons burst overy my head with a whip at first, but it was a lot of fun. She kicked ass. That's my girlfriend ... she got third place bursting balloons with a stripy pink whip. That's just awesome!

We got to swim nakie and then we went back to the canopy where Rae and I had sooo much fun coloring Steffie. I had bought a set of markers that are markers on one side and marker stamps on the other side. Rae brought these cool Elmer's Glue paint brush marker thingies too. Totally didn't know eachother was bringing them either. We had Steffie lay down on a mat and we used her as a canvas for our masterpiece. (See Pictures By Clicking Here ... Not Work Friendly) We giggled so hard and so much I thought Rae was gonna stop breathing a couple times. :-D T

The dungeon area was nice too and we actually didn't have to wait too long to get to play. It was soooo nice to get to play for a while. We never get to play at home cause of the thin walls and the nosy landlord upstairs. Steffie would hit me with the big pink bat and I would giggle ... I couldn't help it! Then the paddles and the floggers (even the evil rubber one)... Mmmmmm. She told me at one point that I couldn't giggle. EEEPS! I just can't control it. I had such a good time. I think we both needed it. It was GOOD.

Weekend of Giggles

  • Jul. 8th, 2008 at 6:56 PM
Collar_BareShoulders
I had a really good Fourth of July weekend this past weekend! It was definitely a weekend full of fun and giggles from begining to end for several different reasons.

First, Tanya is so right. As she said in her journal, fireworks displays are way better when intoxicated. I wasn't way drunk or really even drunk ... just happily buzzing. Sparly shower fireworks are much more impressive in that state. Lots of Ooo's and Ahhh's all around. PC and his nephew shot off lots of fireworks too. They rivaled the displays we were seeing all around the perimeter from neighboring towns. Very cool and impressive and fun.

We got to show off a few new toys this weekend. The first one was the new toy Steffie bought for the strap on harness. It's purple and glittery and it lights up! How cool is that. Not only does it just light up ... it strobes and vibrates and has water with glitter that gives it a very snow globe effect. It's CUTE! Steffie now officially has her own light saber complete with sound and lights. The toy is called a Sydnee Illuminated Glitter Dong. Pictures and maybe video will be coming soon, but here is a link if you want to check it out. Click Here to See. It left us all giggling helplessly when she modeled it and went through all the different speed and light settings making light saber sounds as she did it. I love my girlfriend! She's adorable.

The other toy we got to try out this weekend was the vac bed. Steffie has had it for a while, but we just haven't had a chance to use it. I tried one several months ago at an Erotic Deviance workshop and it totally freaked me out. I only lasted a few seconds after the air started to be sucked out of it. I'm claustrophobic, so it's just not something I enjoy very much. I had nightmares afterward. I did discover that I like being being on the other side of the bag though. Rae and Steffie both tried it out and they liked very much. It got giggles and all sorts of squirms and fun sounds. I like good sounds, and they enjoyed uber much. :-D I would so happily play with either one of them in the bag anytime rather than be in it myself.

We also worked on Rae and PC's garden this weekend too, specifically on preparing and building the new firepit. It's going to be awesome. We removed the old firepit and cleaned out the space around where it was and where the new one would be built, leveled the ground, laid brick for the bottom surface of the pit, and prepared supplies for mortaring in the sides of the pit. It looked like it was going to get all stormy so we didn't actually build the sides Sunday afternoon. That will have to wait for later. It will be really pretty when it's done though. Really nice red and black mingled bricks. We will have some awesome bonfires and grill-outs around the new firepit later this summer for sure.

Medieval Kinky Camping

  • Jun. 19th, 2008 at 11:21 PM
calendar_whiterose
Well... okay, to be totally honest the camping wasn't exactly kinky, but naked/semi-naked options made the camping more fun.

I loved the Dark Ages Faire last year and the year before. It really has become my kinky event of the summer. It combines my three favorite things: Renaissance festivals, camping, and kinkiness. What could be better than that? It's at a private camping site, so we get to go naked or semi-naked or decked out in Renaissance garb ... whichever we prefer all weekend long. There's a royal feast on Saturday night too and some games and things this year. Steffie and I decided to volunteer to help with registration on Saturday, so we even got a partial discount on the tickets this year. That was really nice too since we have several other tickets to buy this summer.

This year should have been sidelined as being The Invasion of the Barbarian Horde cause we really did invade en masse. We didn't just camp and vend, we set up our own little Barbarian village. We had three canopies and three sleeping tents between the seven of us along with all the leather shop and vending stuff and a make-shift kitchen. Porkchop made his own huge grill and spit to fit above his portable fire pits. He cooked a whole leg of pork on it Saturday. It was so yummy!

It rained a bit as we were setting up camp on friday, but doesn't it always raining when you are trying to set up camp? It stopped just as we were finishing, so it wasn't bad. Saturday during the day was gorgeous too. The only down side was the plethra of mosquitos around the camping area. They were eating us alive. Thank goodness for good bug spray and foggers! And lots of 50 sunblock. We spent the day visiting and cooking, vending and doing registration, hanging out with friends. It was good.

We finished up our assigned "jobs" just in time to get dressed for dinner and have the royal feast. Um, feast, not so impressed with for a few different reasons. After my discounts, I only paid 10 bucks for my ticket, so I'm not going to complain too much publicly about it. If I'd paid full price, I would have a major bitch though. We did come fully prepared to feed ourselves and half the rest of the encampment though, so we didn't go hungry in the end.

Just as the feast ended and they declared the dungeons open for the evening, a huge storm blew in from nowhere! One minute it was sunny, and the next the trees were snapping back and forth in the wind and rain and it was really dark outside. I'm use to tornados and bad thunderstorms growing up where I did. I've slept through a few tornados overhead. This made me nervous though. There wasn't really a great place out there for shelter if it turned out to be something dangerous. We were in tents and canopies. We saw a few of the canopies go cartwheeling across the campsite too. Luckily ours was staked down with railroad stakes. That made me feel much better know ours wasn't going anywhere unless it go really really bad.

Needless to say, it did not set the mood for anything kinky to happen though. I had been really looking forward to playing Saturday night. It's been since the DADG party in April since Steffie and I have played. Everything has been so busy here and we really don't have a good place at home to play. The very thin walls and the landlord living upstairs makes that difficult prospect even though we do have a couple places that would make good, temporary play spaces. Plus, the last several times we've played something has caused them to be cut short wether it was the really loud/distracting noise or the temporature (this has been a huge problem). It's hard to have a long, satisfying scene when you're so cold you're shivering. We were both really looking forward to getting some time in the dungeon at Dark Ages, but it didn't happen.

I let it get to me more than I should. It was a bad week at work, and a busy week at home rushing around trying to get things ready for the Faire. The ever multiplying clutter at home has been making me a bit stir crazy too ( I really need to work on that, but with all the sewing projects going, I know it's pointless to try and do a full cleaning until they are done). I was stressing about getting the projects done and never did get a chance to even start on my stuff that I need for this coming weekend. All that along with a serious need to work out some stress with a good, hard night of play compounded all together and made not getting to scene at all even more disappointing for me. It was an overreaction to the situation, and I totally even knew it at the time too. Once the dam breaks though, it's hard to push it all aside. A bit overwhelming.

Rae offered her place to come out and play sometime, and I'm really grateful for that. We may have to take her up on it before too long. At least we know her and Pork Chop won't be freaking out at the sounds coming from downstairs. lol

Overall, the weekend was still really good despite the few downsides. It was even better if I just choose to look at it as a fun camping trip with friends. That was excellent. I always enjoy spending time with the tribe esp when it's camping stuff and being outdoors. Not at all kinky really, but *shrugs* we create our own kinkiness often enough. It's not like we're that deprived.

Here's to hoping that I get the rest of my sewing done tomorrow and/or Saturday sometime and the MSDB party turns out to be a really good night.
Fanny Pearl
I really need to get caught up with the journaling, but it's been SOOOO busy. I spent all last week and the week before working on costumes for both the Renaissance festival in Souix Falls, SD and for kinky camping at the Dark Ages Faire. we made two new skirts, two chemises, and bloomer for Steffie. I'm super happy with the way they turned out. They all look really good on her, and if I hike the skirt way up to just under the boobs and put my corset over them they look good on me too. They make me feel sooooo short!

Sioux Falls was a blast! We had a great time. It was a beautiful Saturday and Sunday all day long. Lots of customers who were actually buying quite a bit. That was really good. Rae and Porkchop seemed to do pretty well selling their leather goods, and Steffie sold four of her potion bottles too. We had mead from the cute mead boy (the other mead dude was annoying ... but that's a whole different story). We saw the pirate troup and the pickle guy, Mistress Bawd, and the Taste Like Burning guys, the Dregs.

It's a lot of fun to see my favorite fest performers only after hours hanging around the campfire drinking and chatting. We shared the apple pie chello and the little bottle of absinthe I bought. Beer and Mike's Lemonade and Jameson. Yeah, it's your typical after hours fest party. Lots of fun. The rain in the evenings both nights did put a bit of a damper on the party though. The first night it rained so hard and the wind was blowing so much that our tent literally shook. The second night it did rain again, but well... Steffie and I were doing other far more fun things than drinking in the rain. Tent sex in the rain is good. It's almost as good as it would have been being outside. Kinda interrupted at the most inopportune time though. It went "Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh.... " from me followed by shoving pillow in mouth as Rae yelled "Hey Girls! .... something something" as they came back over to their tent for something. I was so not in the position to be answering anyone when it involved putting words into coherent sentences. Then they went away, and well we um started again, and just at the same place they came back and were telling us goodnight. There were lots of frustrated giggles, but it was a fun night.

I got sunburned just a bit, but not bad considering how hot and sunny it was outside both days. My feet ached by the time we got home. Man it really sucks being on your feet for hours when you aren't use to it. It was an awesome time though. I really enjoy the atmosphere and seeing all the people, hanging out with friends, greeting the customers. *sends thank yous to Rae for inviting us along*

Happy Birthday to Steffie!

Yesterday was Steffie's birthday. :-D According to her last night, she had a good day. I'm very very happy about that!

The day started off with oh so fun birthday sex, followed by a shower, followed by more sex on the sofa (Thank you George for the new sofa ... can't even explain how much more fun naked things are on a big sofa instead of my futon). Snuggled on the couch and watched tv and just relaxed most of the day.

Steffie had mentioned that she wanted to do Tepanyaki (sp?), so we went to Osaka Japanese Steakhouse in Apple Valley for supper. We had their Hibachi dinners and mixed drinks. Steffie had steak and shrimp and I had steak and chicken, both with fried rice, noodles, stir fried vegges, and salad with ginger dressing. It was all super yummy and fun. I'd never been to that type of restaurant before. The sushi on the menu looked really good too. We'll have to go back to try that next time, maybe for lunch. Steffie wants to do a girl's night sometime for the hibachi grill. That would be fun too.

I gave Steffie her "gift certificate" for her spa day while we were at the restaurant. She seemed to really like the idea. Pamper her with a hair shampoo/cut/style, manicure, pedicure, and make-up next weekend with the girls. :-D I think we're both looking forward to it. After we got back home, I got the birthday cake out that I'd stashed away and lit the sparkly candles and took pictures as she blew them out. So cute! I'll have to post those up.

P.S. Over the weekend Steffie let me play with her chinese cupping set. They made such pretty marks all the way down Steffie's back and across her tushie. I gotta play with those again.

Yay! I borrowed Rae's camera to take some pictures of some clothes that I want to sell online and when I was downloading the pictures onto my laptop, I downloaded the picture from my cutting too. I know some people are squeamish about the blood even though there really isn't very much showing at all in the pics, so I tried to hide it behind a lj cut but I can't seem to get it to work right. Isn't it pretty? I so want to do another one soon. :-D

Weekend of R & R

Well ... maybe not total rest and relaxation, but close.

Steffie came into town on Friday night, and I was sooo happy to see her. I can't wait for the second weekend in May to get here! No more sending her home at the end of the weekend or getting in my car to make the drive back to Minnesota from Iowa. It will be a happy happy day.

We didn't plan anything at all for Saturday. Woo Hoo! We slept in (well, what amouts to sleeping in for me on my weird sleeping schedule), and then we snuggled in bed a while before getting up. Steffie made a yummy breakfast of chorizo, black beans, onions, and rotel with baked tater tots. It was so good! We watched movies and just relaxed all day. It was so nice to not have to be anywhere or do anything specific. Just snuggling and hanging out and playing ... yeah I got Wow's and sounds I'd never heard before. *giggles delightedly* That is definitely a repeat.

And... oh, about 7:45, we thought we should probably cook supper. I made spicy grilled porkchops with butter and rosemary steamed vegetables and great northern beans. It was tasty too. Worthy of seconds. I like having Steffie here to cook for. I rarely ever really cook for myself. Enjoyed that.

We need more weekends like this past weekend ... at least one a month to just schedule as down time to recharge and just do nothing specific. I like those sorts of weekends, esp since they are so few and far between.

I discovered this community a little over a week ago I think and I love it. It's a plus size fashion community covering everything from what styles look best on who, where to shop for the best plus size fashions, and hairstyles. Lots of people I've seen post up pictures of themselves in new outfits for opinions and tips. And yesterday they had a full day of people posting up clothing items that they want to sell to other members. That was very cool. I placed requests for two tank tops and an awesome lace overlay shirt. I loved some of the other stuff but it was too big. Here's hoping for more 18/20 pants and 14/16 shirts. I hate not having the boobs for some of the bigger size shirts. If anyone wants to check them out, here's the link: http://community.livejournal.com/fatshionista/
