Wow! I haven't posted on here in quite a while. I kept meaning to, but I just haven't found the time. We've been so busy lately. Lots and lots has happened since last post.

Steffie bought a house. YAY! We looked a few different mobile homes. One we absolutely loved but the financing just didn't come through for us for that one. *shrugs* A few others just needed way too much work to make them livable. But then we found one that was in really good condition and in our price range to just straight buy it. The only things needed are some ascetic things.

The sale closed and then we spent the next couple of weeks painting the living room and bedroom, replacing the trimwork, etc. We even tore down a wall to make the two tiny extra bedrooms into one larger sized bedroom. We have a big sunken living room that will thankfully accomodate our huge sectional sofa. Built in bookshelves. A bay windo in the living room. Also a big kitchen with lots of cabinets, a pantry, a dishwasher, and a gas stove. I'm so happy *bounces.* We are going from living in the downstairs of a house shared with a nosy landlord that had no kitchen whatsoever. We went for months cooking with toaster oven and a microwave. It was aweful. But now we have a real house. Yay, yay, yay.

Some people kinda scoffed at the idea of moving into a trailer, but I don't think it's a big deal. It's a step up from a tiny apartment or basement. And it's paid for. With a few improvements, Steffie is thinking about selling it in a few years for a few thousand more than she paid for it. Maybe from there upgrade to a mobile home and do the same thing with it. That way there would be enough from that sell to put a decent downpayment on a house. I lived in a trailer for several years growing up, so I don't have the whole negative stereotype. It's a nice start anyway on the way to having a house someday.
