Moving Hell

I really don't want to ever move again. I know that isn't logical. I can't live in someone else's house forever ... but I don't wanna go through the horrible experience of moving like this one ever again.

I got moved out, and I thought I was done with it all ... but no, not even close. I got a bill this week for over two thousand dollars from my old apartment complex! That's ridiculous. I knew they were going to charge me to repaint my living room, and that was fine (even though I don't think having to repaint four walls should be 560 dollars). And they charged me another 300 for cleaning ... my apartment was clean when I left it, but blah... I don't care.

What I care about is the charge they put down for replacing my carpet. They told me that my carpet was new when I moved in. When I left, there were two stains in the living room, small, and one very small stain in the bedroom. Nothing serious. It was soda that had been spilled in the living room during moving. I know that will shampoo right out. The one in the bedroom was kool-aid. I'm pretty sure it would come out too.

I found out that they didn't even attempt to shampoo the carpet before they billed me! They don't know if the stains will come out or not. They are just charging me for it. I don't think that's right or legal, and I'm not going to pay them 1550 for replacing carpet that doesn't need to be replaced unless the court tells me I must. That is the only way they will get that money from me. I don't have that sort of cash to throw around for things like that.

I think they are totally trying to take advantage and in the mood I'm in now, I'm so not going to take it. I've been through hell the past month, and I'm just not willing to deal with any more.
