Not a Movie to Repeat

Ugh ... I am appalled at a movie that is on T.V. I've seen a lot of movies that ridicule the south, but this is on a whole new level. It's C.S.A.: Confederate States of America, and it's a movie that portrays what the film makers think the U.S. would be like if the South had won the Civil Warm. I'm just sickened and appalled by the whole thing. As a Southerner born and bred in heart of Dixie, in the same state as the Confederate capital, with civil war monuments in every town, I haven't always been proud of the history of my home. I don't agree with what happened, but it happened over 100 years ago. I didn't have anything to do with it, and yet I'm still paying for it in the way things like this movie makes me question just how others see me based solely on the fact that I'm Southern. I'm not ignorant and backwards. I'm not a racist. I don't think that slavery of any people is right or should be allowed. When I see things like this, it makes my blood boil. It keeps that damn stereotype alive. I hate it. It doesn't represent anything of the parts of growing up Southern that I hold dear to my heart. It doesn't represent me or my culture or my values. I wish I'd never seen it.
